About the Artist

Spirituality, sexuality, creativity and healing - they are so intimately entwined as to be inseparable. Art making has played a hugely important part of my journey through life, faith and self understanding particularly as I work through the issues of faith and identity. My spirituality is based in Christian mysticism, prayer and meditation with influences from Zen Buddhism. The Spirit gives life - and leads us to live life to the full, be the person we were created to be with joy and confidence and without shame. The journey is life affirming as we recognise the imago dei - the image of God - in every human being and the beauty that that engenders.

I have an MA in theology and am currently training to be an art therapist.

About the Art

I work mainly in oils and acrylics - much of my work is figurative and explores the spiritual journey, how we undertand ourselves as human beings alone and in relation to others. My studies in mysticism and psychotherapy are reflected in my work. I also produce landscapes and other images, including pop art paintings.

Some of my work displayed on the pages here is for sale.

I also take commissions and can work either from photographs or from life - producing portraits or more abstract images as preferred. They make unique gifts with depth and meaning that will last a lifetime and are ideal for commemorating a special day or relationship for example. Before I start painting it is helpful to have some kind of conversation so that my work reflects something of the person it is intended for. I have also produced larger pieces for groups and organisations. If you are interested or want to discuss possibilities further then please contact me.

In addition I have experience of leading workshops with small groups exploring creativity and spirituality, if you are involved in a group and would like to talk through some ideas then do get in touch.
